How to Increase Revenue During a Social Media Break
In today’s episode, we’re diving into something unexpected and completely unplanned that happened in my business. Get this, I unintentionally took a month-long social media hiatus and still managed to increase revenue in my business. I’m sharing how you too can increase revenue during a social media break!
A Huge Social Media Following and A Fancy Website Aren’t Everything
I’ve preached that you don’t need a massive social media following and a fancy website to be successful. I’ve seen it time and time again. New entrepreneurs get so wrapped up in a website, a social following, and making sure every little detail is perfect. All of those things are wonderful, but they aren’t going to move the needle for your business or give you profitable results when you’re first starting out.
I dive more into how to build a profitable virtual assistant business in a FREE training that I have. You can check that out HERE.
My Accidental Social Media Hiatus
My husband and I recently welcomed our second son, Wallace Lynn Holmes, on March 17. And to be honest, I didn’t have a super clear plan for what maternity leave would look like. The combination of recovering, figuring life out as a family of four, and juggling a business truthfully wasn’t glamorous. So the thought of showing up online wasn’t only at the bottom of my to-do list, but I just wasn’t in the right headspace to do that either.
But with that crazy time, came a beautiful blessing. I increased the business revenue by 50 percent during that time frame.
Three Strategies to Increase Revenue During a Social Media Break
When you want to build your client list and increase your revenue, I want you to first think about your ideal client. Where are they and how can you get in front of them?
Build Out an Automated Sales Machine
Recently, we recorded an episode talking all about how you can create automated systems for your business with Ann Losinski on episode 15. You want the very first touch point a potential client to have with your business to be both professional and easy to navigate. Plus you want it to be as efficient and easy to manage on your end. Ann shows you exactly how to do that, so you can generate leads with ease.
Partner with Other People in Your Industry
The second strategy I love to use is to partner with other people in the same industry. This is beneficial for both parties because it gets you in front of new audiences that are your ideal clients.
Here are some ways you could do this:
- Go live on IG to discuss a relevant topic related to the industry you serve
- Offer something of value to their audience for free
- Create a free bundle together and offer it to both of your audiences
- Be a guest on a podcast: you can pitch yourself to be on one!
Take Time to Pitch Yourself
If you have an ideal client or many ideal clients, why not simply pitch to them? Email them by introducing yourself and telling them what you can offer them and how you can make something easier for them! Sometimes you have to get out of your comfort zone and put yourself out there. Otherwise, how is anyone going to know who you are or the amazing service(s) you offer? My biggest tip is to have an easy way for someone to schedule a call with you if they’re interested in your services. This is where episode 15 will help you get those systems set up.

These are the three tactical things that you can do today for your business to help increase your revenue during a social media break. So I challenge you to step away from social media and try some other ways to grow your business. That way, you can show up on social when it’s fun and convenient for you. 🙂
